Cityworks Design was founded in 2006 by Lisa Padilla, AIA, LEED AP. Her Los Angeles-based firm specializes in urban design and architecture with a special focus on public realm and transportation projects.  The firm’s work is exemplary of community-based planning and design that addresses issues ranging from detailed pedestrian/bike access solutions to broader land use planning, transit-oriented development, and new transit alignment studies.  Lisa Padilla has successfully led a variety of LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) projects over the last seventeen years, including the design of innovative access plans for Metro’s Gold Line Eastside Access Improvements in Boyle Heights, Connect US Walk-Bike Action Plan for Union Station and LIttle Tokyo Regional Connector Station. Urban design and station area planning for light rail transit projects include the Exposition Light Rail Transit Parkway & Corridor from Downtown Culver City to Santa Monica, Metro South Bay Green Line Extension, and West Santa Ana Branch Refinement Study. The firm has crafted design guidelines for Downtown Long Beach, and the City of Glendale, and provided urban design support for General Plan updates in Pasadena and Long Beach.

Cityworks Design is certified by LA County Metro under the CUCP program as a disadvantaged (DBE) and small (SBE) business enterprise.
